Bethel Baptist Church is in the country but easy to find. Most visitors simply follow Route 29 until they turn at one of the directional signs for the church. There are many "backroad" ways to Bethel, but we will save those until you are well familiar with the area!
Coming from Edinburg, you would take Route 29 southeast (toward Taylorville) and after a few miles you will see a sign on the left side of the road with an arrow to turn left toward Bethel. The sign is on County Road 1919 North (which actually goes east and west). You will take that road for less than a mile when you will take the first left on to County Road 1000 East (which goes north and south). Bethel Church is located several hundred yards up the road on your left.
Coming from Taylorville, you would take Route 29 northwest (toward Edinburg/Springfield) and after about 3 miles you will see a sign on the right side of the road with an arrow to turn right toward Bethel. The sign is on County Road 1000 East (which actually goes north and south). You will take that road north for about 1 1/2 miles and the church will be on your left. (Note, during construction on Route 29, the sign was taken down. It is the turn before you get to the Sharpsburg elevator).
From either direction on Route 29, if you get to Sharpsburg elevator you are only a short distance away.
We will keep the light on and the coffee hot until you get here! Don't be afraid to call for directions if you would get lost (217-623-4090)
